Bookworms
Big Yard bookworms is a 10-week program run in partnership with Amira Learning, an artificial intelligence reading tutor that teaches kids how to read. This program gives K-3 students free access to the software for the duration of the 10-week program. Students spend time reading with Amira and then meet weekly with Big Yard and celebrity guests to discuss reading, their favorite books, and receive shout outs + rewards for spending time reading with Amira.
Engagement.
Student progress and activity is tracked through the Amira software and used to determine students who have earned rewards based on their efforts.
Rewards such as shoutouts, virtual celebrity appearances, and more are presented to students to promote motivation and provide positive reinforcement.
Supplies.
Big Yard and Amira Learning worked together to provide students with the software that works with tablets, PCs, and desktops.
Campaign.
Big Yard Foundation has partnered with Holy Redeemer Elementary School to create an exciting and competitive vibe around the Amira Learning software over a 10 week campaign.
