The Big Yard Foundation’s mission is to uplift our communities. We strive to empower our communities, especially those who have been historically marginalized. In our five years, we’ve come to understand that in order to uplift a community, it takes a community. A community of like-minded individuals who are committed to creating an equitable society and providing equal opportunity for all, regardless of the one’s circumstances. Big Yard Foundation is a product of that community’s constant presence and care, and has existed for six years only because of the support that we have continually received.
Big Yard Studio is a celebration of the art that provide context and representation of our communities, both locally, nationally and globally. A celebration of artists whose works lend us insight and deeper understanding of their perspectives. This year, we are happy to announce our 2024 Big Yard Studio show: Acquired Taste.
Acquired Taste - synonymous with unconventional art, beckons admirers into a realm where outlaws and oddballs reign. That’s the power of unconventional art: going against the norm and doing what’s never been done before, creating an exchange between the art, the artist and the community that lasts forever.
